Millville Fire Update July 3, 2012 8:30am

The Millville Fire is now 90% contained. 
Aggressive fire fighting efforts aided by less than predicted winds on Monday allowed the crews to nearly contain the fire.  Winds this morning has sparked a few remaining hot spots—all within the perimeter of the fire.
Currently on the fire are two 20-person handcrews, an engine, and one helicopter
The total burned acreage is 109 acres. 
The Millville Canyon road and also 3rd South between 4th and 6th East will remain closed through at least today, July 3, 2012 for firefighting efforts.
The Millville Fire began around 4pm on Sunday, July 1, 2012. The fire started from target shooting near the base of Millville Canyon. The fire began on Division of Wildlife Refuge land and spread onto National Forest land, burning on a steep hillside East of Millville, Utah.
