Fireworks Restrictions

Fireworks Restrictions

Logan, Utah – June 28, 2013 – Due to the current and forecasted  conditions of extremely dry weather and increasing temperatures the follow restrictions for the use of fireworks have been ordered.  These orders are effective immediately and shall remain through July 31, 2013.  The affected areas are as follows:

LOGAN CITY:
All areas North of Highway 89 and East of 1200 East
All areas South of Highway 89/400 North and East of 600 East
Any mountainous, brush covered or forested areas
Any undeveloped wildland or land being used for agricultural purposes

CACHE COUNTY:
          All unincorporated state and private property within Cache County

NORTH LOGAN CITY:
          All areas East of 1600 East

RICHMOND CITY:
All areas North of 300 North, East of 300 East and South of 800 South

PROVIDENCE CITY:   Restrictions Pending

WELLSVILLE CITY:    Restrictions Pending

DROWNING - North Logan, UT



MEDIA RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Friday June 21, 2013 a two year old male, who was attending a wedding reception with his family, fell into a hot tub located at the Four Seasons Reception Center [140 East 2200 North, North Logan, UT]. It is unknown as to how long he was there before he was discovered. CPR was immediately begun. Paramedics arrived and he was transported to Logan Regional Hospital. Medical efforts failed to resuscitate the two year old.

Hyrum Structure Fire

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hyrum, Utah –June 17, 2013-The Hyrum Fire Department with automatic aid from Wellsville, Paradise and the Cache County Fire District responded to a working structure fire at 400 South and 175 West in Hyrum.

First arriving fire units found heavy smoke coming from the basement on the west side of the structure. Fire crews were able to knock down the fire from the outside of the structure.  Additional crews made entry to the basement and finished extinguishing the fire with no injuries.

The structure sustained significant damage in the basement. The fire was caused by an appliance located in the basement.  Damages are estimated to be in excessive of 100,000 dollars.
