The Mt. Elmer fire
is located southeast of Mt. Elmer in the Mt. Naomi Wilderness Area
(Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest). The fire is approximately 10
miles northeast of Logan Utah. The fire was ignited
by lightning last Friday August 10th.
The fire exhibited significant smoke today and was easily visible from Logan.
The fire is not
staffed at this time due to higher priority fires elsewhere, however the
Forest Service is monitoring the fire daily.
