Structure Fire 673 North 100 West, Logan

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


Logan, Utah – April 11, 2012 – The Logan Fire Department with Automatic Aid departments responded to a report of a fire located at 673 North 100 West in Logan City.  The call came in at approx. noon  

A column of black smoke could be seen as fire units approached. Upon arrival the fire department found the rear of an attached garage fully involved in fire. It was determined that both persons living in the home were not home at the time.  The fire department was able to rescue two dogs. 

Firefighters had the fire under control in approx. 10.  Heavy fire damage was done to the garage and a vehicle in the garage.  The flames were confined to the garage, however heavy smoke damage was observed throughout the house.  No injuries to firefighters or citizens were reported. 

The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental and most probably caused by the disposal of charcoal brickets and ashes in a plastic garbage container.
