Cove Electrical Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cove, Utah-April 12, 2012-The Lewiston fire department with automatic aid from Richmond, Smithfield, Trenton and the Cache County Fire District responded to a structure fire at 13480 North 2400 East in Cove. The call came in approximately 9:35 AM.

The home owner called 911 after noticing smoke coming from the electrical panel in the garage. The first arriving units found smoke and fire coming from behind the electrical panel. Firefighters were able to access the fire quickly and extinguish the fire with limited damage.

The cause of the fire appears to be an electrical short in the electrical wiring within the electrical panel.
