North Logan Structure Fire

Structure Fire

North Logan, Utah – July 22, 2013 – The North Logan Fire Department with automatic aid departments responded to a report of a structure fire at 1609 North 1000 East, North Logan.  The fire was initially reported to USU Police department by a USU facilitiesemployee at about 3:13 am and then relayed to the 911 dispatch center.  911 also received calls by neighbors reporting the fire.

Upon arrival the fire department found heavy amounts of fire through the roof of a two story home.  The home was vacant at the time of the fire.  The fire department was able to extinguish the fire with the use of a ladder truck in approx. 30 minutes.  

The fire caused extensive damage including the collapse of the roof in part of the structure.  Damage is estimated at $175,000.00.  

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be conducted Monday morning.
No damage to other structures or injuries was reported.
