Logan Structure Fire

Logan Structure Fire

Logan, Utah – August 21, 2012, – The Logan Fire Department with automatic aid from North Logan, Smithfield and Cache County responded to a report of a structure fire with smoke was coming from an attic of a home located at 354 East 500 North in Logan.  Emergency dispatchers received the call at 7:15 pm from a neighbor.

Upon arrival the fire department found smoke throughout the home and a small fire in the living room portion of the home.  The home was unoccupied at the time and was under renovation.  Firefighters extinguished the fire and checked for fire extension in the walls and upper floor of the building.  The home was approx. 100 years old with several layers of wall finishes and additions.  Fire damage was contained to the living room with smoke damage throughout the home. 

The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental and originated in the electrical system of the home.  No exposures to other structures or injuries were reported.
