Clarkston Grass Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clarkston, Utah -March 11-The Clarkston fire department with automatic aid from Trenton fire department and the Cache County Fire District responded to a brush fire five miles North of Clarkston off of Dirty Head Road. The call came in app. 3:53 PM.

The first arriving units reported a brush fire that was spreading due to ten to fifteen mile an hour winds. With mutual aid from the surrounding departments the fire was contained to 16 acres. There were no structures threatened.

The fire was started on accident by individuals shooting guns. Due to heavy fuel growth from the wet weather last year and the dry spring, Chief Rod Hammer cautions everyone to be careful when recreating out of doors. The fire potential is very high for this time of year.
