FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

North Logan, Utah – March 7, 2012 – At 15:45, Wednesday March 7, North Logan Fire Department, with automatic aid assistance from Logan and Smithfield units, responded to 300 East 2500 North on a report of a structure fire.

Firefighters made entry into the home and located a fire at the water heater that they were able to quickly extinguish.

The homeowners reported smelling smoke in one of the rooms and traced it back to the bathroom where the water heater was located. They attempted to extinguish the fire from the outside through a vent while one of the residents called 911. There were no injuries reported.

Property damage is estimated at $4,000.

Fire units cleared at 17:08

Investigators have ruled the fire accidental, the fire originated at the water heater.
