Salvage Contractors Ignite Old Trenton Feed Mill

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Trenton, Utah- May 1- The Trenton Fire Department with automatic aid from Lewiston, Newton, Clarkston, Cache County EMS and the Cache County Fire District responded to a structure fire at the Old Trenton Feed Mill located at
235 West Main St Trenton
. The call came in approximately 12:22 PM.

The first arriving engine from Trenton Fire reported light smoke coming from the structure. Crews quickly identified the location of the blaze. The fire was confined to a grain bin in the basement. Crews accessed the bin and extinguished the fire while other crews deployed to the roof, cooling the grain elevator legs that were connected to the bin.

The fire was caused by salvage contractors using cutting torches. Contractors are in the process of salvaging the metal in the old building. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
