Paradise Grass Fire Threatens Structures

Paradise, Utah October 7, 2012 The Paradise fire department with automatic aid from Hyrum, Wellsville, Mendon, Logan, North Logan, Smithfield, Newton and the Cache County fire district responded to a grass fire threatening structures located at 820 West 8200 South the call came in approximately 3:36 PM.

The first arriving units quickly extinguished a shed that was on fire and was able to cool down a 1000 gallon propane tank that had vented and caught fire. Units work rapidly to extinguish the two acre grass fire on steep terrain that was threatening a home.

Unattended burning was the cause of the fire. Damages estimated at 7,000 dollars. During the open burn this month fire officials would like to remind anyone who would like to burn needs to obtain a burn permit from there local fire department or the Cache County fire district.
