Structure Fire
Logan, Utah – October 25, 2012 – The Logan Fire Department
with automatic aid from North Logan, Smithfield and Cache County responded to a
report of a structure fire at 653 East 800 North. The fire was reported to the 911 dispatch center
by one of the occupants of the building who had woke to find smoke filling the bedroom,at approx. 5:30 am.
Upon arrival the fire department found moderate amounts of smoke
from the attic of the building. The building
contained two apartments and four tenants.
All the tenants had exited the building.
One person was medically evaluated and released on the scene.
A small amount of fire was found in the attic and was
quickly extinguished by the fire department.
Fire damage was contained to the attic above one room with smoke damage
throughout the building. Damage is
estimated at $25,000.00.
The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental and
originated in the electrical system of the building. No exposures to other structures or injuries
were reported.
