FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mendon Utah-April 9- The Mendon Fire Department with automatic aid from Wellsville, Logan and the Cache County Fire District responded to a structure fire at 474 East 250 South Mendon. The call came in approximately 2:10 PM.

The first arriving unit reported light smoke coming from the structure. The owners of the business were able to contain the fire and put the fire out with a number of fire extinguishers.

The fire was caused by coconut oil being heated in a large pot. The owner received minor burns to his hands. The property damage is estimated at $5000.
